About Roxy/Roxanne

My name is Roxy/Roxanne! I am an 11 year old female red pit bull. I am currently living with my Aunt, who loves me dearly and wants to keep me, but I'm afraid I'm stressing out her first dog, to no fault of my own!! Auntie says he's just a brat. :( I come from my original mom who has had me since I was 8 months old! Unfortunately, I don't think my mom has made the best choices, and has put me in a position where I feel insecure and a bit jealous at times, and often fighting for attention with my previous two siblings, but that's why my aunt has rescued me! I have done really well with my aunt and her dog, though!! I am 100% potty trained (I use the doggy door better than my Auntie's dog!) I listen very well to my name, nickname or full. I get random bursts of energy and can go wild even at my ripe old age, but I'm very calm and sleepy 99% of the other time. I love toys and bones, and I am very vocal! I get sassy every chance I get, and sometimes I rumble! I can sound intimidating but I am a sweetheart to my core! My sleep preference is under a blanket with my nose poking out. I love adults and kids but I take a liking to men, even though one has led me to be in the state I am in now. I am at 35 pounds, I have been malnourished and neglected in the last couple years, and I had a pretty nasty UTI from the neglect, but my Auntie is feeding me lots of kibble (though I don't OVER eat even at this weight) and she had me on medicine for my UTI! My vet said my heart sounds wonderful and I have no respiratory issues! Her adoption fee is only to cover my vet trip that made sure I was healthy and to fix me right up and clear out this UTI! My last rabies shot was also done last year so I am up to date! My Auntie loves me so much that she just wants me to have the best possible life because I deserve it! Seriously, this girl is wonderful. She hasn't always had it easy, and I'm just trying to do what is best for her so she can enjoy her senior years in the comfort of her own home without fear of abandonment or having to fight for attention from others. She has done wonderful with my dog, but I do think she would be better as a solo dog so she can enjoy and feel all the love and attention, and she does love her men, but she is perfectly fine with females, so neither of those are MUSTS, but it would probably help her to enjoy a stress-free retirement that she has worked so hard for.
