About Ozzie

OZZIE IS A 3 YEAR OLD NEUTERED MALE. HE IS 24' FROM HIS SHOULDERS TO THE FLOOR AND WEIGHS 55 POUNDS. Ozzie is an energetic, loyal and loving companion. He has been with our family since he was 8 weeks old but we currently live out of the country. Our hot, tropical climate and wildlife is too much for him, and we are anxious to find him a home where he can thrive. Ozzie is very social. He adores playing with most other dogs and always enjoyed hours at the dog park. Sometimes he has trouble reading dog social cues and doesn't give his companions a chance to rest. He is playful with 99% of dogs, although from time to time there will be a dog he reacts to, but we haven't been able to identify a pattern. Like most collies Ozzie is smart, eager to please and needs a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. He loves being outside, exploring new places and exercising. We never developed his recall skills so he hasn't been off-leash, but he does learn quickly and is very trainable. Ozzie is vigilant and will bark when someone knocks on the door or with noises he doesn't expect, but he settles down. If it's quiet at home, he'll sit calmly while you're working or watching movies, but if there's too much activity like kids around, he'll run after them. He's the dog to accompany you on trails, long walks, beach or river visits, and just sniffing around a big backyard - he's not the dog to keep you company at a quiet cafe. Ozzie thrives and is affectionate and attuned to the emotions of adults, but is overly excited around active kids. He needs a home with no children, outdoor space to play and a new owner who is attuned to vigilant dogs. Ozzie is potty trained, crate trained, sleeps through the night, neutered, is healthy and has all his shots and vaccinations to date. Thank you for reading; please reach out to me with any questions.
