About Knox & Maizy

Knox and Maizy are a sweet bonded pair coming back to Survivor Tails after close to 9 years with their family, through no fault of their own. Their owner had to move in to care for a senior family member and the pups have knocked over the senior twice now when rushing to greet visitors at the door. They are being rehomed for the safely of this senior person in the home. Both dogs are leash trained and understand 'sit' at feeding time but were not taught any other commands. They'd love to find a new home where they can spend their golden years together loving on their human(s) and each other as they sleep. The pups would likely be fine in a home with other calm, respectful dogs who would match their energy. Knox (white) Male Hound? mix ~10-11 years old ~50 lbs Knox is a spunky, handsome boy with a pointer look and a hound howl! He's very sweet to those he loves and is used to and enjoys cuddling with his humans and his sister Maizy. He's not aggressive to other dogs, but if they approach him unleashed and are in his space he will bark loudly. Has never bitten another animal, but has had one incident with a person - an oil delivery man had opened the dog fence in the backyard after being told to wait until his owner could put them inside, and Knox gave him a quick bite on the arm. This was the only incident in 8 years. He might be okay with other dogs if they were introduced slowly. He is more vocal, and likes to let you know when someone has pulled into the driveway. His owner said she will miss his spunky personality. Maizy (brown) Female Lab? Mix ~9-10 years old ~50 lbs Maizy is a super sweet and calm pup, who loves to cuddle with her humans and her brother Knox. She is a very gentle gal and has never shown aggression to other animals or humans. Maizy has uncontrollable wiggles when her person comes home. She's not vocal at all, and lets her brother do the talking. While she loves treats and is food motivated like her brother Knox, she has a very sensitive stomach - she only seems to stomach Purina Dog Chow (her owner has tried more reputable expensive brands and she's gotten sick from them). This girl cannot handle people-food, so no sneaking anything under the table to her despite the puppy eyes she might give you! Her owner said she will miss her sweet nature most. We had a great evaluation from a professional trainer that we would be happy to share with anyone interested in adopting these sweet seniors.
