About PRECIOUS

At 10 years old, PRECIOUS lost the only home he has ever known after his elderly owner passed away. He was left in his home for nearly 6 weeks all alone, covered in feces and matted to the skin with an elderly friend doing his best to drive a two hours every other day to give him fresh water and food. We took him into rescue after being contacted by the conservator and PRECIOUS became part of Murphy's Paw Rescue. He was in foster for about a month while we completely updated his vet care, groomed him, allowed him to decompress and was finally placed into an adoptive home. Unfortunately, over the course of 4 months, he has nipped on 3 occasions and broke skin on one occasion in his adoptive home. Each event took place while being touched, but not provoked. For example, he came over to be pet...allowed for some pets and then after some time nipped. We have ruled out anything medical, including doing a complete repeat exam/bloodwork and even x-rays to be sure isn't in any pain. He seems to be perfectly healthy. Although he never showed any signs of aggression in his foster home, we have to be transparent about the fact that he did this in his adoptive home. Therefore, we are seeking an experienced adopter for PRECIOUS. It's hard to believe PRECIOUS is 10! He is still full of so much spunk! He was severely overweight when he first came into rescue, but now he is a healthy weight at about 22 lbs. He is potty trained and is great with other dogs, too! Neutered/Vaccinated/on a special diet.
