Name: Midnite Age: DOB 6/1/2023 Breed: Chihuahua/terrier mix (23 pounds) Sex: Female, spayed per owner Location: Montgomery County, PA Midnite was adopted from Alabama in November 2023. She was taken to a neurologist for bumping into things and not being able to go up stairs, and was diagnosed with nystagmus and visual impairment. Her owners are in the process of moving, and one is also having spine surgery and cannot risk a fall or trying to lift Midnite. Midnite needs a new home or rescue by the end of April. They have tried reaching out to friends and family and shelters with no luck. Vet Info: Midnite is spayed and current with vaccines per her owner. She has not had a recent heartworm test. Other than her vision, her owner tells us Midnite is in good health. Dog Info: Midnite is an indoor dog with run of the house. She is housebroken and leash trained and knows the commands, Sit and Down. Her owners tell us she is good with people of all ages, male and female dogs, and cats. She currently lives with a male dog, and her owner writes, 'they sleep together, play together. Ride in the car together.' She has never shown aggression and is not possessive of toys, treats, or food. Her owner also shared more details: 'I can take her food from her. She will play tug-of-war with her toys. And she loves to throw them in the air and she can hear where they land and pounce on them.' Midnite's owners feel she adapts well to new situations and shared: 'Yes having houses and two states she can map out the houses easily and she can go up and down the steps and turn around on the steps perfectly. If something is moved, she knows it. She bumps into things and takes it in stride. She's great with going to the door to go potty, or coming to me to let me know she has to go to the bathroom or she'll start to pace. She's very intelligent. She also can throw her toys in the air and hear where they land and ponce on them.' Midnite's owners also want us to know what a sweet girl she is! They tell us she's very affectionate and craves attention. 'She is truly beautiful and is a very sweet dog. And she has no idea she is visually impaired. She is the happiest dog.'
