About Rufus

Rufus is nearly 15 months old fawn Great Dane. He looks just like Scooby Doo. In fact, we call him Roofy Doo for fun. His dad comes from champion lines, we paid $2500 for him. He is a very good boy, and smart, but not overly so like a poodle. He never destroys anything except his toys, is potty trained, has a male dog companion so he's good with other dogs. He loves walks, but he needs leash training, he pulls. He is about 140 lbs. He's going in for his annual check up. We'll update his weight if it's different. We can care for him until he's placed in his forever home. He was given to our son as a puppy, my husband was doing everything for Rufus, but he passed away and my son is not responsible enough to care for a dog. Rufus is loved and cared for, but he needs someone who understands that he needs regular walks, to play tug, catch and so on every single day. He sleeps with my son in his bed every night, but he sleeps on doggy beds throughout the day. He goes outside and plays catch with himself by tossing the ball down the stairs then running after it while it bounces along or chase with his toys. He'll toss some of his toys in the air then catch them. It's quite adorable to watch. He's a very good communicator, he uses the doggy door, which is large��%BD'��%BD|so you would benefit by having one or training him to let you know when he needs to go out. He loves being on a schedule for eating, walking and playing��%BD'��%BD|..and he'll keep you on time. Please do not contact if you don't want to provide a lot of food, attention and clean up big poops. Rufus is a puppy so he likes to put our hand or arm in his mouth��%BD'��%BD|.he gets his drool on us, but he's just using us as a sort of pacifier. He'd rather play with a toy, so make sure you have them around and you won't get drooled on.
