About SKYE

Name: Skye Age: 8 years Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Mix (60 - 70 pounds) Sex: Female (not spayed) Location: Wake County NC Skye's owner is legally blind and is continuously losing sight. She is unable to take care of Skye and is hoping to find her rescue/an adoptive home. She's reached out to several organizations, animal control and the SPCA, but has not yet had any luck. Vet Info: Skye is not spayed. She is not current with vaccines, but her owner tells us she is heartworm negative. She is microchipped per her owner. Dog Info: Skye is an indoor dog with run of the house. She is housebroken and leash trained and knows several commands, including Sit, Come, Stay, and Out of Here. She's a friendly girl, and her owner tells us she's good with people of all ages, and male and female dogs. Skye does not currently live with other animals. Skye is not possessive of treats, toys or food, and has never shown aggression. Her owner gave us more details about how she is with other dogs: 'she normally lies down when another dog comes close.' Skye's owner feels she adapts well to new situations despite her visual impairment and writes, 'she has adapted we lived in one house up until a year ago. My vision changed and I had to move. she has done well with the move.' Skye is partially blind and her owner writes that she has 'cupping'. Skye's owner wants us to know what a sweet girl she is! 'she is very sweet, doesn't bark. she loves ice water. likes to sleep at the foot of the bed on the floor. she whines a little or rubs her head on you when she wants something. she will go to the door sometimes just to go out and lie in the sun.'
