Can I introduce you to Duke? He has been in boarding for the past 4 years with ASF. I don't know the whole story, but the gist of it is he was rescued out of Houston, escaped transport somehow in Dallas, and ran around the Love Field Airport runway for 2 weeks until caught. He has been boarding with a trainer named Dawn here in the North Dallas area where he has transformed from a scared semi feral/feral canine to a sweet pup who wants nothing more than to bond with his person. He came to stay with me over the weekend after my son and I went to visit him at Dawn's. We wanted to see if he could be adopted out as he has had very little interest in being fostered nor adopted. Let me tell you, he is a total knucklehead. He is silly and ripe to learn all he needs to learn to become a beloved family member. He relaxed and was letting us pet him and playing tag with us within 24 hours. He found a dog bed in my house and made it his base. Duke needs someone who has patience and would like to mold him into a pet. Somewhere in his past, Duke has learned leashes are awful. He is petrified of leashes, and isn't interested in going for walks. Duke is looking for a home with a yard with a 6 foot fence minimum he loves to do zoomies and play tag with whomever with play. Duke hasn't spent much time in a house so he is not house broken yet, but Dawn is hoping to start that ASAP. He likes almost all dogs. He is learning about cats. A home with a dog savy cat would be best as if the cat runs, Duke thinks chasing is so fun! Are you willing to get this boy out of boarding and into a home where he can flourish? I am happy to answer any questions! Here is the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application We have waived the adoption fee and just charging the $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new family.
