About Cali

Sweet Cali came to our rescue in November from a breeder/ hoarder situation where she was chained to a tree 24 hours a day with only a dog igloo to shield her from the elements. Needless to say when she arrived at her foster home, she was anxious, and terrified of humans and hid in the closet for most of the day. She has blossomed into a calm, happy, playful girl, and is learning to trust humans. Cali likes to spend her days playing with her dog friends, lounging around the house and outside in the sunshine. She definitely prefers a quiet people household with minimal activity (so no young kids), she moves to the bedroom when things get loud or she feels overwhelmed. She sleeps on my bed at night and comes up in the morning for loves and pets, however the rest of the day she is reserved and independent . She has the personality of a cat, minus the litter box. Cali loves her dog friends and has become attached to my larger male golden retriever. She follows him everywhere. She will need a home with at least 1 other dog to show her the ropes and continue to help build her confidence. Cali is submissive and will do great in home with other dogs. She is also cat friendly and doesn't pay them any attention. Cali can be left for a few hours without any problems, has an occasional accident in the house, does well in the car and at the vet. She will need a fenced in yard of her own (no dog parks), is learning to walk on a leash, and is ready for training. She is estimated to be about 3.5 years old, around 30lbs, up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and on prevention. A meet and greet is required.
