About Lexi

Lexi just turned 4. She has been with our family since she was 6 weeks old. Unfortunately we need to find her a home with a better environment for her. Though she is mixed-breed, her demeanor is a Great Pyrenees. She has a natural instinct to guard which has led to some issues with her nipping our children and other dog and bothering the neighborhood with some barking and escaping the yard to chase deer. Her obedience has greatly improved after attending a 2 week board-and-train session summer of 2023 but she does still resource guard her food under certain conditions. It is manageable, but to be extra cautious, she should not be in a home full-time with children or other pets without more intensive training and working through the issue. She is up to date on shots with no health concerns and is trained on basic obedience as well as crates, outdoor kennels, underground fence and ecollar. I would be happy to share her whole life story beyond these basic details.
