APOLLO is a 5-yr-old, 60lb Pitbull mix who once lived happily in a family until they moved away, but not before cruelly dumping the dog they themselves described as 'friendly, outgoing, affectionate,' and 'gently playful with our children' at the New York City kill pound, where uncaring bureaucrats planned to kill him, simply because that was easier than finding a loving home for him. Luckily, APOLLO was saved by a No Kill rescue moments before his scheduled execution and placed in a home with an elderly couple who loved him until recently when both fell ill and his mom entered a hospice program. APOLLO has now lost his second home and quietly grieves alone in a boarding facility. We are urgently pleading for a loving family to adopt APOLLO who will want to cuddle with you even more than he likes to go on long walks and quietly play with his toys. APOLLO is a low to medium energy, sensitive and intelligent dog who knows all the basic commands and is fully housebroken, neutered, up-to-date on all shots and in excellent health. An adopter who works or stays close to home would be ideal for APOLLO because we expect that the loss of his second family in only five years of his turbulent life will leave him with separation anxiety. We are willing to transport APOLLO to a loving home anywhere in the USA for only the cost of his low $200 adoption fee. For pictures and videos, please call Andrew anytime at (646) 387-9868. Thank You for your interest in APOLLO, the lovable New York City rescue dog!
