About Marvin

Belgian Malinois
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

URGENT FOSTER/ADOPTER NEEDED! Marvin A2131298 needs out of the shelter by 4/16/24. Otherwise he will be put down. I am urgently looking for a foster or better yet his forever family to save his life!! Marvin is a male brown and black Belgian Malinois. 1 year 4 months, 74lbs. Been at the shelter since 3/28/24. 'Marvin came in as a supposed stray in 3/28. Behavior / volunteer notes: 'Today while cleaning Marvins kennel, I noticed that he remained inside the cubby and did not want to come out. After I was done with cleaning I went over to his kennel again and tossed some treats inside his kennel. He came out for a second and ran back inside cubby afraid. Later on the day I went back to check up on him and gave him some more treat and he finally came out, still scared and nervous but he came all the way to the front of the kennel and took the treat from my hand. I told him to sit and he did. After a while he laid down in the front of the kennel a bit more relaxed. I will continue to work with Marvin since he looks like he is very scared and nervous. He did not show any signs of aggression towards me. Young undersocialized dog.' 'I was given permission to check out Marvin and get a feel for him handling wise and in the yard. He was calm and non reactive when we walked up, interested in treats but mostly worried and investigating. I closed off the cubby and let him check out my leash while offering more treats. He came up but retreated. After a few attempts I was able to get my leash on him. He didn`t react at all and walked out with us calmly. He was afraid of the loud sounds and barking but was non-reactive. In the yard, he mostly explored, he is nervous and flighty. Lucy, Veronica and I were in the yard with him. We let him be and he di come closer and investigate us. He had some fence greetings with Titan and was non reactive. When it was time to return he was running away from us a bit so we left the catch pen open and waited for him to go in and closed him in there. He allowed himself to be taken back to OBS and seemed more relaxed on leash. I used a quick release and easily returned him.' Marvin is a scared dog and needs our help building confidence. He needs this chance. Would you be interested in opening your home and your heart to this boy? Please contact me immediately if you are. Time is of the essence.
