About Casper

Adoption Fee: $18
Plott / Pit Bull
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

It has been a moment since we updated you on this sweet guy. He came in a few weeks ago with a broken leg, was very underweight, he just all around looked rough. Here is the update. On his previous post we asked for name recommendations, Casper, was mentioned multiple times and we thought it was fitting. So, this is Casper. Casper has seen a vet and we are told he needs kennel rest while he regains health. His broken leg was an old injury that never healed properly, likely because of his unhealthy, underweight state. We do not believe that this leg causes him pain and the hope is that it will start to heal properly as he gains weight and nutrients. At this time amputation was not recommended as his poor body has been through enough and the healing process of a surgery like that would be far too much when the leg truly doesn't seem to bother Casper. Most importantly, Casper has found himself a lovely temporary foster home while he gets better! We hear he is comfortable and adjusting to the space very well. The foster is aware of his current limitations and knows he need proper rest and down time. Though Casper is currently happy and comfortable in his foster home, he is ready and still desperately searching for his forever home! This foster is happy to hold onto Casper and take care of him, but the reality is, while he is in their care, it takes away their ability to foster and give our other shelter dogs a temporary safe, comfortable home and so many of our dogs would benefit from this. Casper is very loving and does well with children and other dogs. He is gentile and calm, just in search of all the love his life has previously lacked. He is becoming healthier by the day and is ready for a forever home. If you would like to meet Casper and possibly give him a new home please give us a call, 740-596-9285. (If we do not answer please leave a voicemail letting us know you want to meet him. We'll be happy to call you back.) (We currently have opened our foster program up to a very limited number of homes as it is new and we are working out all of the details. If you would possibly like to foster for us keep an eye out for future posts.)
