About Max

My name is Max - and I am looking for my forever home. I'm just over 1 year old, I'm a big strong girl weighing about 55-60 pounds! ASCZ thinks I am a Cattle Dog mix of some sort! My foster mom thinks I am the best girl ever and she tells me all the time how beautiful I am! I have such distinguished markings on my ears (you can see them if you get me to slow down a bit). Here are some facts about me: *I really enjoy being an only dog, I love to soak up all the attention my people want to give me! *I will be your shadow! I absolutely LOVE my people *I will chase any ball or frisbee you can throw at me, for as long as you want *I LOVE running around my yard to burn off energy - so a fence is a must! *I will protect you from any squirrels that try to come near you (or any other critters for that matter *I don't need a crate - I love to chew, but will chew all the toys and bones you give me, I'm not a big fan of couches or shoes. *I am housebroken! *I know a lot of basic commands, like sit, stay, and paw. *I am definitely a genius - I am so smart I have been with a family that loves me, my mom and dad adore me, but sadly my dad has passed away unexpectedly and my mom cannot take care of me the way my dad did. It breaks her heart to have to give me up, but she feels someone who could take me on hikes and give me more exercise would be a better fit for me. I am going to miss her, but she only wants what is best for me. I have a lot of energy and need to be engaged. I would do best with someone who is home more than not. I am going to need some leash work and someone who is patient while I learn my new routine. I don't meet other dogs well, I have lived with 3 other dogs at my previous foster home - but it was a long stretch and lots of supervision before I learned to play nice with them. I really would not do well with cats either - I chase them and don't understand that they don't want to play like I do! I would flourish in home that had lots of room for me to explore. And with someone who doesn't mind sharing the couch at the end of the day. I like kids! I am a jumper though, so until I learn some manners bigger kids are better so I won't knock them over accidentally. I am a good girl!
