About Phoebe

Meet Phoebe Meet Phoebe, an adorable 7-year-old chocolate bundle of am staff love! Despite her zest for life, Phoebe has already experienced the hardships of being in and out of Los Angeles high kill animal shelters since 2017. It is unclear why she has found herself in the shelter system multiple times, but one possibility is that she may be an escape artist, although this behavior has not been observed during her time in our care. It is likely that Phoebe has not had committed owners in the past, which unfortunately is a common occurrence for pitbulls. However, our rescue organization, Concerned Citizens Animal Rescue, came to her rescue when she was only hours away from euthanasia. Even though she was a favorite among shelter volunteers, he dedicated daily care takers, knew that they couldn't save Phoebe's life within the overcrowded shelter system. After watching a heart-wrenching video of Phoebe in her kennel, gazing up at the sky, we made the decision to give her a chance at a better life. Now, Phoebe is safe and sound in a foster home, surrounded by two other female, senior dogs. She gets along well with male dogs her size and enjoys playful interactions with them. Phoebe is a bit sensitive towards other females in her new foster home, but she is gradually warming up to one of them. Despite her past hardships, Phoebe still has an abundance of life and love to give. She is healthy, playful, and has become quite the Velcro dog when it comes to her person. Phoebe is well-behaved on walks, walks nicely on a leash, and is already spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations.
