About Staxx

Staxx is our 14 year old yorki mix who found himself in an over crowded shelter when his family had a financial hardship. Stax is a sweet boy and loves to lay on your lap and just be where the people are. He is a bit nervous when being picked up and unsure of small kids so he'd be happiest with older respectful kiddos. As for other dogs Staxx seems nervous of bigger ones but not aggressive. He is comfortable around dogs his size but puppies are like toddlers and he'd prefer to keep his distance. Cats are interesting but not for long as he quickly loses interest. For being 14 his health isn't as in bad shape as you'd expect. Stax has some cataracts - which he's old that isn't a surprise. He's a little hefty (you can definitely tell when you hold him) There is a slight cough to him so he gets the lovely kennel cough quarantine and medication until that resolves. He is a longer haired yorki so he will need routine grooming with someone experienced as he is a fiesty old man and will let you know back in his day matts were cool and they don't need brushed out , hair doesn't need cut etc . He is searching for a family that can appreciate the old man attitude and quirks but adore him and his snuggly self anyway. Quieter , low key home is ideal. We are accepting applications but he will be ready to go home once his kennel cough clears up and is successfully groomed by the professionals this weekend
