About Koda

URGENT REHOME NEEDED Smart, loving, family dog is in need of a new home ASAP. Koda is a 5 yr old long hair german shepherd who is no longer able to live with my father due to his declining health, and him having had emergency surgery last week to amputate his foot. Koda has been neglected for the past few months due to my father's poor health and he's in need of some medical attention. He has allergies and skin issues which are pretty bad right now. I know he has an ear infection, likely yeast infection as he's lost a lot of hair on his chest, and he's very itchy/uncomfortable. We don't have anyone in our family that can provide a proper home for him and so while my dad is in the hospital he is stuck at my dads house while someone checks on him a couple times a day. My dad's home is also in hoarder status, so it's not a healthy environment at all for Koda. On top of these health matters, he has behavioral needs as well. He is reactive to other dogs/strangers and will bark/lunge until he knows they are safe. Once he knows they're okay, he is good with other animals and people. He gets stressed/scared/high alert in unknown/social environments as he wasn't properly socialized growing up during the pandemic. Even with these extra health matters he has, Koda is a wonderful dog and so smart and loving. He does great with kids of all ages, grew up with cats and is good with other dogs once he knows them. He is a great adventure buddy, loves the water, and would make a great family dog if he has someone that can give him proper training and health support. PLEASE help me help him!!
