Courtesy Posting: CORONA, CA, So Cal 'MOCHA' - ID #A150917 - at CITY OF CORONA ANIMAL SERVICES STUNNING, YOUNG, VERY SWEET CHOW BOY NOW AVAILABLE TO ADOPT, OR LOOKING FOR A FOSTER AND RESCUE, SHELTER IS SMALL AND FULL! The shelter is asking for help for this wonderful and friendly young chow gentleman who was said to be found as a stray and ended up at the Corona shelter. He has been fondly named Mocha, weighs only 38 lbs, and is estimated at 1.5 years old, but may be younger given his small size. We sent a volunteer to meet him who described Mocha as 'very sweet'. She was able to handle Mocha and give him belly rubs, and we have video of this to share. Mocha was also walked by other dogs on the playyard where he waited to potty and 'He was curiously looking around at all the dogs with his tail up and calm'. However, it was noted he was a bit nervous with them and did a low growl, more as a defensive, so he may need a slow introduction with other dogs and not be used to them. We have additional videos to share walking past kennels, and enjoying head rubs, and he was an easy return into his own kennel. Mocha has not been tested one on one, and this could be requested if needed. Mocha is now available to adopters, and chow experience is always a plus and recommended. At a minimum, we ask that you read up on and fully understand the breed's temperament and we do not recommend him for first time adopters or homes with small children due to his breed.
