About Nitro

*Currently being fostered in Kingston, Ontario (Canada) for Camp Basenji* Nitro is a typical 7 month old puppy: He adores his foster parents *almost* as much as food! His energy level is average, but, like all puppies, it's amped up by his environment: He'll chase any thing that runs, and chew on anything if he's frustrated-including his dog sister and foster parents. For this reason, a noisy home with very young, running children might not be the best choice for him at this stage. He's currently 22 lbs and probably won't grow larger than 35lbs. We've heard him vocalize only once. He certainly isn't loud, and the sound isn't out of keeping with that of a basenji, but he will bark if left alone. He'd probably do best living with an active dog sibling his size or larger, especially if he doesn't have a parent home all day, and have a fenced yard to chase around in. The latter will help him with his potty schedule; He currently sleeps through the night, but generally needs to go out first thing in the morning, at noon, and a few times in the evening for nature breaks. He's a quick learner, and loves cuddle time on the sofa. Nitro is a sweet, affectionate boy who would needs a family of his own to love.
