About Oliver

Adoption Fee: $400
Dalmatian
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Oliver 'Ollie' is a young dude with an old soul. He's only three (DOB 4-3-21), but this dog has seen some stuff - you'll need to give him a few days to earn his trust. Once you do though, his loving nature and unending desire to be near you will melt your heart. He desperately wants a home of his own, and he seems to believe the best way to secure that is to always be touching you. Ollie is a snuggler who will cuddle up next to his human(s) and lay his head on your chest, stick his nose under your hand to get pats, and lean into your legs whenever he can. He'll even walk right into the shower with you! Ollie missed class the day they taught Dalmatians about going on walks. He is perfectly content to never leave the safe bubble of his home/backyard. When he does, he has some anxiety, especially around moving cars. We've been working on this, but Ollie will need a patient human to help him overcome this fear and over-stimulation. For now, a few minutes of fetch in the backyard is all the exercise he's interested in. Ollie is house trained, uses the dog door, and likes the permanent resident dogs in his foster home - one of which is a 5-month-old puppy. After a few days of establishing a pecking order, Ollie embraced them and will often cuddle with the puppy. He happily shares his bed, his crate, even his most prized possession in the world - his red ball. He's not food aggressive and has a very gentle mouth when taking treats, which is surprising given how mouthy he is! Maybe he went to Husky class instead of Dalmatian school because this boy likes to talk! He's not a barker - he actually seems to be sharing his opinion with you and will often gently 'mouth' his human before starting his presentation. Ollie is also welcoming of other humans when they come to his house, so long as they are prepared to give him pats - he's not shy about asking for them! Ollie didn't get a lot of attention his first few years of life and is making up for lost time now. With a little patience and a lot of love, Oliver is going to be the best companion ever for a lucky adopter.
