Name: Rocky Age: Approximately 8 years old Sex: Male (Not Neutered) Breed: Jack Russel Mix, 20 pounds Location: Rutherford County, North Carolina Vet Info: Rocky is blind due to unknown cause but it is believed that he can see shadows. Rocky is not neutered or up to date with vaccines or heartworm testing. He appears to be in good health. Info From Owner: Rocky was recently taken in by a good samaritan when his original owner could no longer care for him. Rocky has adjusted well to his new environment and is an indoor dog with access to a large portion of his owner's home. He also has an outdoor pen with a secure roof where he is comfortable spending time in the yard and enjoying the fresh air. Rocky can be a bit of an escape artist and can climb fences so needs close supervision when not inside. Rocky navigates fairly well and even though he bumps into things, he figures out where he needs to go. Rocky follows his owner's voice to be with her and enjoys spending as much time together as possible. While he prefers not to be alone, he can stay by himself for periods of time and is crate trained. Rocky is initially shy when meeting new people but becomes comfortable within a reasonable period of time. Rocky is leash trained and still working on housetraining. He is used to wearing a belly band to help with this effort. Rocky currently lives with 3 other dogs and a cat. He oftentimes gets along well with them and they often sleep on the owner's bed together. He does however, chase the cat and has grabbed and pinned the smaller dog down. Rocky would do best in a home without cats and if with other dogs, ones of similar size would be best and the proper introduction and ongoing supervision would be needed.
