About Timo

Timo, more about him he's 9 months old still a puppy and would do well with other dogs to show him the ropes in life. He's a shelter rescue and an Australian cattle dog isn't accustomed to my situation, being alone in a one bedroom apartment for 8 hours + while I'm at work. He has separation anxiety and has chewed up some things while I'm gone. He wants to be active! He's a sweetheart when I'm back and wants to play and follows me everywhere I'm at. He sleeps in his bed next to mine and hears me settling down and going to sleep and does the same. He chills with me on the couch and wants me next to him and feel the body heat and hand on his body scratching him, falls asleep and has cute dreams where he's moving his paws and making short vocals. He is super smart and learned to walk on a leash and be housebroken in 2 days. The problem is his previous owner I estimate kept him in solitary in a yard in a doghouse where the outside world was a threat. I think he was hit by his previous owner. He whines when he sees other dogs walking around the complex but wants to play. He also whines when he sees people but just wants to greet them by jumping up and getting pet. His previous owner didn't expose him to any of this and it shows, also didn't teach him many commands. He knows his name knows No and walking commands but still working on sit at 9 months, so he's undertrained. Would do very well having another dog around as a mentor! (And a backyard that he's used to). I just want to help him as much as I can. My situation is not ideal for this dog. I'm moving to an apartment complex that doesn't allow dogs and I really don't want to put him back in the concrete floor and towel of the shelter after seeing this sweet boy sleep next to me on his dog bed in a comfortable room without 50 dogs in a cell. It breaks my heart knowing I don't have the ability to provide for him and keep him happy.
