About Annamae

This beautiful kitty girl is Annamae who very much looks like an anime with her big blue eyes. Annamae appears to be a Siamese Mix and is estimated to be two years old After seeing a post on a Facebook rescue page regarding an abundance of kitties who were in need of placement as their elder caretakers were overwhelmed, on March 12th I trekked to the depths of Caroline County to pick up Annamae. Confined to a large dog crate placed on top of the extra large dog crate occupied by her brother, Annamae was super shy but easily handled by the older gentleman who was caring for her. Once at my current residence I initially started Annamae in a medium sized dog crate given she was familiar with living in a small space. Although she hide at first behind her cat box and under a blanket within a few days she was feeling much more confident and was engaging with my personal kitties and the other rescue kitties. She soon began preening and dancing whenever I approached her crate pirouetting on her tip toes and leaning into the crate bars begging for attention. After five days in her crate, she moved to my bathroom. Once there she took up residence in my tub and would envelop herself in the cloth shower curtain. She progressed to lounging in the sink and popping up ever time I entered requesting pets. Annamae then began to play with toys, knocking her jingle bells and springs up against and under the door. She learned to play paws with the other kitties under the door. As she acclimated I began opening the bathroom door so that she could engage directly with the other kitties. At first hesitant, she began to engage but would shy away when the kitties were overzealous in greeting her. April 2nd was a big day, Annamae had her first lengthy out and about and happily explored her new surroundings, checking out the other kitties, the kitty condos and cat caves, even walking up to and sniffing my personal doggies. As of April 8th Annamae is a whole houser, enjoying the run of the rental residence. Annamae has tested negative for both feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. She was spayed on April 3rd and was vaccinated for rabies and distemper and microchipped. Annamae will likely be shy in her new home, but will warm up nicely once she feels comfortable and secure in her new surroundings.
