Amaretto had a microchip originating from a prior adoption at a County facility June 2022, after contacting animal owner staff was informed the dog was puppy purchased as a gift for her brother and dog allegedly got loose/ran away August 2023. Information and assistance on redeeming animal was provided by staff assisting with owner retention; however, neither party moved forward with redemption and uncooperative with follow up communications. Amaretto presents himself as friendly & energetic, enjoying interactions with staff/volunteers and other dogs in playgroup. Amaretto's prolonged stay at the shelter has caused him to suffer from increased kennel stress/in-kennel anxiety, as well as over stimulation/frustration on kennel exits requiring more advanced handling needs due to excessive mouthy behavior and jumping/pawing at both leash and handler. Due to overall poor quality of life in kennel and increased handling concerns causing potential for bite/skin break to occur, Amaretto needs rescue or special needs adoption placement by end of day Wednesday April 10th 2024.
