About Gretel

Pit Bull / American Staffordshire Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Gretel is an American Pittie that was caught on March 18th as a stray in Highland California. I've had Gretal in my home since then. Here is what I know about her: Updated on all shots as of 3/19 Scheduled to be spayed on 4/1 Appears to be housebroken. Has not had one accident in the entire time I have had her. Is calm and not reactive to activities going on around her. Is not very interested in being walked. Must be prodded and encouraged. LOL Likes her toys. Appears to be kennel trained. She is not kept in a kennel during the day. The kennel is only for nighttime and only to keep her safe while the household is sleeping. She took to the kennel as though she was familiar and comfortable with it. Approx 3 years old per vet. She is a good car passenger, enjoys the ride. No anxiety displayed. She is friendly and likes to play, very loveable. Doesn't seem to like real long walks unless coaxed with treats. Here is what I don't know: I have not socialized her with other dogs. However, I am willing to pay for an assessment to be done by a professional and to pay for behavioral training if necessary. Because I am not familiar with the breed, I am being cautious with socializing on my own. Not sure how she does with cats and small children. Again, a trained professional can help with that if necessary. Gretel is looking for her forever home and I am trying to assist her in finding it. I am also willing to make a generous donation to any rescue that can assist me with finding the appropriate home for this sweet dog.
