About Jackson

Meet the very best boy, Jackson: a 3 year old Frenchie mix who weighs 30 pounds, and loves to cuddle! The moment you meet him, he is guaranteed to put a smile on your face! Jackson does fabulous with kids, cats, and dogs (his foster has all three in the house!), does well when crated and on car rides, loves pets and head scratchies (he will let you know with his adorable grunting), and is overall the most chill pup you'll meet! Jackson came into foster after a slipped disc injury where he was unable to walk, but he has shown immense improvement after a few months of rehabbing. Currently, he is walking great, and continuing to progress every day! He does still wear a diaper for some leaking, but is continuing to progress in this area as well! Regardless, it is a very easy process to diaper him as he is a very cooperative guy! :) Considering his injury and our mission to prevent it from happening again, Jackson will need a slightly modified environment to remain his best self! It is recommended that any pup who has had an injury like Jackson's be monitored closely, and should not be engaging in activities where they will have to jump up on their hind legs. This includes motions such as climbing stairs, jumping to greet people, hopping up on the couch and into vehicles, tug of war, playing intensely with other dogs, etc. Gates on stairwells are recommended as well as crating anytime he will be left alone in the house. Even with these important modifications, it has been no inconvenience to Jackson's foster family to handle his care. He is very easy going, food motivated which makes training easy, and is full of calm snuggly energy that is just irresistible. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
