About Hippo aka Tripp

Meet the impressive and affectionate Giant Schnauzer Hippo (aka Tripp)being fostered with Schnauzer Love Rescue, Inc in the Florida panhandle. Hippo just turned 8 years old in March 2024 and he is healthy and playful. UTD on shots and on HW/flea/tick meds. He needs lots of affection and will need someone who is home with him most of the time. He does great on a leash and loves to go out and about on walks, to Lowes and other public places, to the dog park and anywhere you want to take him. He attracts admirers wherever he goes, because of is size, beauty and friendly demeanor, and Hippo drinks in all this admiration with a wiggling tail. Our rescue requires adopters to be located in one of our 7 SE networked states..see Schnauzer Love Rescue for more. Hippo is good with other dogs large and small. He likes to counter and trash surf, so be prepared to keep him out of the kitchen and out of trash cans. Hippo loves a good 'gate challenge' and views gates as a puzzle to be solved. He doesn't really want to run off anywhere, but he'll let his nose and curiosity lead him...Because of this his adopter will need a chain link or 6 foot solid fence. This precious amazing smart dog will make an amazing companion. He is wicked smart and loyal. He is an extremely low low shedder, not much more than a standard poodle.
