About Callie & Roy

Adoption Fee: 150
Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

These two kitties need a home. Probably farm cats that bred and were dumped. They seem very farm like to me. I think that would be a good environment for them or to be with one person that can give them all the love they are so hungry for. If a farm cat, hey would need regular LOVE, FOOD, WATER, vet visits, and to come inside in winter. They are indoor/outdoor. They have been spayed and neutered, and have their first vaccine and flea, tick, mite and worm treatment. The ginger cat is a male, I call him Roy. The beautiful calico is female and I just call her Callie. Probably brother and sister. They love each other but can be separated. They are both very affectionate and loving to people! Callie sits around my neck and walks around on my shoulders. Callie doesn't seem to like other cats, but Roy has played with my old feral Frankie. Callie, can be dominant to other cats and protective of Roy when together. So it could be good to separate them, unless they are the only cat or dog. Callie went after my dog. But I think that eventually she would get used to a dog. Or if they just avoided each other. My dog is irritating as she never stops and at first callie didn't have a problem with her but one day, my dog tried to come in the house past Callie and she did so in an excited way and callie had just been spayed and she went off on my dog. I just don't know them very well. These are my 2 week observations. There is a video on my facebook page where you can see both cats better. You can see how sweet callie really is. At first everyone got along great and no one fought. But I have a full house so maybe it was just too much for Callie. https://www.facebook.com/100068931878509/videos/pcb.738498328457890/7297298197025553 Give them a trial and if they don't work out you can bring them back. I think they would make great family farm cats. Adoption fees to cover spay and neuter and vaccinations that the city paid for. $150 female $125 male That is a very discounted price. Spaying and neutering can cost upwards of $250- $450 per animal. *Please never declaw your cats and always spay and neuter. If you can't afford it, there are programs that can help you. Before you dump them, before they breed, please ask for help in your county. 'Spay Iowa' is a state-wide program. https://spay-iowa.org/
