DOG FRIENDLY, BUT CURRENTLY RESCUE ONLY DUE TO BEING SHY- HOWEVER, A CHOW SAVVY HOME MAY BE CONSIDERED FOR ADOPTION. WE ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR A FOSTER AND RESCUE ASAP DUE TO HER URGENT STATUS - SHELTER IS FULL AND SHE MAY BE EUTHANIZED ANYTIME. Help! The shelter is asking for help for this shy young chow girl who came into the Hesperia shelter. The shelter has named this beauty Deedre and says, 'She was brought in by an officer who found her on an empty lot. She was scared upon intake and was growling at several technicians. After a couple days of decompressing and with lots of hot dogs, I was able to leash her and take her out of the kennel. She walks very well on a leash. She gets a little scared with new people but warms up quickly. She looks like she has had a litter of puppies. She does cry a lot and seems to be looking for someone. She was dog tested with a male dog and did fine.' We also have video of this. Despite this positive progress, though, the shelter has red listed her and Deedre is now one of the next dogs in line to be euthanized due to space. We are therefore desperately looking for a savvy foster or home, and a rescue (rescue group need fosters) to save Deedre is time. The shelter estimates she is only two years old, and weighs approximately 40 lbs. Deedre came in with a very matted coat that is blowing her undercoat currently and may have just been used to breed. Originally, they had her listed as a german shepherd, but we could see she was a chow mix, and has a full black tongue and her breed has been updated to such.
