Courtesy Posting: LOS ANGELES/VAN NUYS, CA (SO CAL) - ID #A2130631 - 'JULIA' - LA CITY SHELTER/EAST VALLEY - 36 LB FEMALE CHOW PUPPY- SUPER SWEET, PEOPLE AND DOG FRIENDLY- BUT MAY NEED RESCUE DUE TO BILATERAL ENTROPION AND SURGERY NEEDED- RESCUES NEED A FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT. SHELTER IS FULL. URGENT - CHOW SAVVY, HOME OR FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT AND OR RESCUE NEEDED ASAP - APPROX 10 MO OLD GIRL We are in urgent need of finding a patient and loving home, or a foster (foster-to-adopt) and or and rescue for this adorable, female chow puppy who is both people and dog friendly. Now named Julia by the LA City shelter, she was found as a stray, and likely dumped due to having bilateral entropion which requires surgery (a common and corrective condition and surgery many chows have/need). The shelter estimates Julia to be 10 months young, and describes her as super sweet and calm, good with other dogs. In fact, Julia is kenneled with another dog at this very full shelter and we have a picture of this they sent us. Julia currently weighs 36 lbs and is expected to a grow a bit more. She has no reported medical issues other than the bilateral entropion. An adopter or rescue must provide for corrective surgery though which ideally should be done in conjunction with her spay. The shelter may consider deferring the spay and providing a voucher for such, so the entropion surgery can be done at the same time for an approved rescue. We are therefore also looking for a foster and foster to adopt so that a rescue can assist with this. If you are interested in adopting this cutie, you must come in person and you must be in a position to provide for the surgery. If so, please contact the shelter immediately at: 888-452-7381 and reference her ID and use the listing link: https://petharbor.com/pet.asp?uaid=LACT.A2130631 Sorry, we do NOT provide nor arrange for transport to private homes and adoptions, so please do not ask. A rescue must be involved to arrange for transport. If interested in fostering, fostering-to-adopt, or helping in some other way (ie., pledging for her rescue), please also contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement asap. We will try to pair fosters or interested parties to foster to adopt through a rescue group. If you are a rescue group and interested in rescuing this sweet girl, please email the shelter right away to both addresses at: [email protected] and [email protected] and also contact Robin at [email protected]. Julia will likely be available for Star funds for rescue partners. We will be posting video, additional pictures and updates as we receive them on facebook at: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0phx43u7P9MYMUHAkiwvL546MHKEryc7fCdYCYNLD3cUzbuUQXia8YBWSRuSB1Kodl&id=783968124&mibextid=cr9u03
