This dog's owner died and he apparently has been abandoned in the yard. Supposedly there is a relative of the deceased owner cleaning out the house but they haven't been around for at least 2 days. He got out of his yard yesterday and ended up on my street. I kept him on my porch/fenced yard last night but cannot keep him here as I have two dogs and my male is jealous and I don't want those two to connect. I'm hoping some kind soul would be willing to take him in and if his owner's relative shows up and there was some kind of misunderstanding vs. outright abandonment, would consider relinquishing him IF the owner can convince me they'll care for him in the future. I have left my number at the house door and will do plenty of questioning if I hear from anyone. He is not chipped, seems in good health but I think he's an older dog just by energy level and behavior. He's friendly and a neighbor brought him to the vet to check for chips last night and he was well behaved.
