About Batman

BATMAN is an 18 month old, 16 pound pure bred Cocker Spaniel who came to us after his owner went into a facility and no one was able to keep him. He is a very handsome boy and looked to be in good condition at first, until we started touching him. Cocker Spaniels are double coated, which means they have an undercoat layer and an upper layer. If they are not groomed properly their coats can develop very painful mats close to the skin and that is what happened to our boy! He was one big mass of matted knots and was so patient while Francine worked on him! He really is the sweetest boy! Batman is one of our special Angel Dogs. He has an additional $150 Angel Fee on top of his regular adoption fee that will be paid forward to another dog who needs a little divine intervention! In this case it is for a medical bill for a dog named Harper (who has not been posted yet). So far her vet bill is over $700, mostly due to an extensive dental. Angel Dog fees can be paid for by an adopter or sponsor. This is such a great way to donate to the rescue and help two dogs find their homes. If you are interested in sponsoring his Angel Fee please let us know! Batman is very affectionate and loves, loves attention. He's happy, outgoing, friendly and his little nub tail is always wagging! He follows his foster mom around hoping for pets and kisses. He loves people and is not the type of dog who's happy spending long hours alone. Batman is still very much a puppy and has good energy. He loves to run and play in the yard with the other dogs and would enjoy a small doggy friend. We have not had him around cats or kids since he's been with us but think he would be fine with older kids. Cats are an unknown. Batman is housebroken and knows how to use a doggie door. He is leash trained, but we would love for him to have a fenced yard in his new home. He likes adventure and would enjoy an active family who would take him places. At night Batman sleeps curled up with his person in the big bed. He has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. This precious baby is ready to go home! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
