About Scruffy #full-of-life

Hey everyone! I'm Scruffy, and I'm an energetic, playful, and perky mostly white wire-coated Jack Russell Terrier mix fella with several large charcoal patches on my face and body who was born in January 2024. At two months old, I weighed 6 pounds, but I should weigh up to 15 pounds when I'm full grown. Miss Donna says, 'Scruffy's the sweetest he can be.' I'm full of life and fun, so I love to play with anybody who's game! I'm overwhelmingly affectionate and just love everyone -- adult, kids, and other dogs. A keenly intelligent expression and V-shaped ears are hallmarks of us Russells, who are upbeat, lively, inquisitive, and friendly pooches. We're often described as 'live wires' or 'tiny turbo jets' because we can be hyperactive pooches who run around in circles and can jump five times our height. For this reason, we need at least an hour of daily exercise as an outlet for our boundless energy. You don't want me to get bored and invent my own entertainment by being destructive with your things! We athletic Russells may be small, but we thrive when we have space to run and play. I may look like a plush-toy come-to-life, but we're eager, tireless working terriers who were bred in England for fox hunting. We're swift enough to follow the hounds and fearless enough to flush a fox from his lair. Because our hunting instinct is strong, we'll chase anything that moves, so we don't share the house with cats very well. Also because of our sudden bursts of energy, we are recommended for children over 6 years of age. We're alert and confident, so we make vigilant watchdogs. We adapt well to apartments but just need plenty of outdoor activity. We Russells can be strong-willed and independent problem-solvers, so I'll need firm training so that I can settle comfortably into family life. Good news is that we're intelligent and quick-witted, so I should learn easily if someone is patient enough to train me. True confessions: I had a little too much energy for my owner to cope with, so he surrendered me to Miss Donna to find me a wonderful new home. He has been dewormed and microchipped and is on heartworm preventative. Adopter must sign a contract to bring him back to Miss Donna in August for him to be neutered at 7 months old. His adoption fee is $300 for puppies 9 months and younger. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
