Breed: Australian Kelpie Mix DOB: Dec. 20th 2022 Age: 1 years old Gender: Male 51 lbs Neutered MICROCHIP NUMBER 981020051430632 He has his Bordetella shot scheduled for April 19th Personality: Maverick is a great dog. He loves people and is friendly towards other dogs. He loves to play. Maverick is also a great guard dog. He definitely makes sure he watches the house and will alert you if anyone is around your home. Children: Maverick is good with older kids. He has never had to be around babies or toddlers and because of that, I don't recommend he be around small children. Shed: Maverick does shed some. He has seasons where he sheds a lot but only in certain parts of the year. Training: Maverick is fully housebroken. He knows how to ask to go out for his potty breaks. He knows to sit, lay down, paw. He has trouble with stay. He still has that puppy energy. He could use some additional training in some areas. Needs: Maverick has a lot of energy. More than other dogs of his height and weight. He is a dog that has the energy to herd sheep all day and night. (in an ideal world Maverick's new owner would have a farm) Are you & Maverick a good fit? You are the right fit for Maverick if you love long walks or jogs once or twice a day and want to take him with you. If you are training for a marathon or love going on hikes 3 times a week or more and want to take him with you. You could also be a good fit if you have another dog with high energy that could use a playmate. Lastly, if you live on a farm or have lots of space for Maverick to run around and play in, you will be a great fit for Maverick. Surrender Reason: It absolutely breaks my heart to have to look for a new owner for my dog because I love him so much and truly don't want to give him up but I am moving into a home with 2 small children. Maverick is not suited to be around small children and thrives with teenage children and adults. Willing to travel.
