PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 1 year old male Chihuahua mix, about 11 pounds. Remy is a sweet and mellow little guy who is a very happy dog. He LOVES to eat and get treats. He gets this silly grin on his face when he is told not to do something. He is so easy to have around and wants nothing else but to be loved and give love. He came to us quite timid, but his true, fun-loving self has shone through. He loves to sit with us or next to us whenever we are reading or watching TV. He will watch your every move and wants to always be by your side. He is crate trained but can whine a little bit for a minute or two. He sleeps in a crate in our bedroom at night and never makes a sound. He has informed me, though, that he would prefer to sleep on our bed. He loves to play with, chew on, and throw around his stuffed toys. He likes to gather them in a pile and watch over them. He is so great with new people and children. In his first week here, we could not get him to walk more than 30 feet outside. He was afraid of the outside world and especially of cars. We take him out for a walk once a day. Now, into week three, he will now walk with us about a half mile, including the return walk, and when a car drives by, he barely notices. Baby steps! He gets along great with our two dogs, but he has only tried to play with them a few times. There has never been a harsh word between any of them, but he seems to mostly ignore them. My dogs have helped him be much less fearful. Cats are unknown. He has not been in the car a lot, but the times that he has, he has been very anxious. Hopefully, this will subside with small rides in the car to get him used to it. To request an adoption application, email [email protected] Adoption contract and fee applies. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
