Shasha was brought into the shelter as a stray, terrified and whale-eyed, with her tail tucked. Despite her initial fear, she allowed handling from strangers at the shelter and leaned in for pets, clearly starved for attention, safety, and nutrition. Medically, Shasha has some hind leg lameness, likely due to arthritis, which improves with walking. She is timid and sweet, and she likes to have something in her mouth while she walks. However, Shasha has not acclimated well to the kennel environment and has allowed only minimal handling since intake. She is highly fearful and shutdown while in care. Shasha may do best in an initially calm and quiet home environment, where she can be given the time and space to acclimate to her new surroundings.
