About

Siberian Husky
Sex: Male

This really sweet boy was found on Wednesday (3/20) running around on SE Hawthorne near 31st. He doesn't have a chip and wasn't found with tags on. I've posted a bunch of flyers, posted everywhere I could think of or find online, and have been looking through lost dog postings multiple times every day. So far, no one has reached out and no one seems to know him. He is missing his family and seems anxious and clingy. He's somebody's baby because he's well fed, clean, has trimmed nails, clean teeth, etc and is really sweet and friendly. However, we were unable to keep him. We work long and unpredictable hours, are not home enough, and I have an injury that will not allow me to continue giving him the physical activity he needs every day. If we can't find somebody by the end of the day we'll need to take him to the shelter, which is really heartbreaking. I would love to find somebody that knows him so we can reunite him with his humans or someone who can take him in while we keep searching. Preferably someone who has experience with huskies. He's been with me a few days and this is what I know about him: He is very loving and sweet and loves to cuddle. He is good with my 12 year old, but I'm not sure how he is with younger children. He is a husky and does husky things like throwing howling tantrums. He seems to be used to having free reign in his house and will snuggle on the couch and probably sleep in bed. He's not a fan of being in a crate if there's not someone nearby but will go in one just fine. I don't think he's neutered. He knows basic commands and listens pretty well. He can jump pretty high but hasn't shown interest in jumping my fence or digging his way to freedom. He does not like to be away from people and was happy to join our household with no encouragement. Some of that seems like it could be that he's freaked out and wants to be around people. He loves to roll around in the grass which is hilarious and adorable. He pulls on walks but much less when he's had more activity, which has been about 3 walks a day. He prefers to be on the move at a fast pace during walks and loves to smell and stop to pee on everything. He hasn't tried to eat any random stuff when we've been out and about. He's patient while I take forever to open the poop bags and scoop it up. He looooooooves to meet people and get pets. He is really friendly and has shown no aggression though sometimes he stands on his hind legs to try to give kisses. He gets really excited about other dogs and will howl and pull toward them, which sometimes gets the other one riled up. He will generally walk away with a bit of encouragement, but it's hard if the other dog is too interested in him. I did have to pick him up and carry him away from a yard with an army of tiny angry white dogs and another large one being aggressive at the fence. He's really interested in cats, squirrels, etc, but is redirected fairly easily.
