EUTH LISTED for 3/27/24 - We are in urgent need of finding a loving savvy home, or a foster (foster-to-adopt) and rescue for this adorable boy who is listed as a 2 yr old, 76 lb Golden Retriever mix who came into the shelter as a stray. Smiley is very urgent and the shelter has really nice things to say about him. Per the shelter: 'Everyone is a potential friend. He always has a smile and a tail wag available. Active and 'busy' - wants to sniff and mark new areas before he can settle in and enjoy attention. Seems to like balls and toys. No medical concerns at this point. He's very strong and has no training so our average volunteer or member of the public who comes in can't physically handle him on leash. He's 76 lbs. He's interested but dominant with other dogs that he's been introduced to. Likes people a lot!'. Please be sure to watch the video of Smiley with his ball he loves playing with it!! Sadly, however, the shelter had mislabeled Smiley previously as a chow mix due to his fluff, despite his pink tongue (chows have black tongues). The shelter has since updated his breed only recently, causing him to be overlooked before. He is also listed as Rescue Only because he's strong and not yet trained despite the fact they say he is very friendly. However, we did get them to agree to consider an adoption with a waiver for the right savvy home. He would be neutered for a home.
