Meet Peach! This sweet girl is in need of a transfer from Maui Humane Society as their community works to recover from the devastating Lahaina fire they experienced in August. We need a foster or adopter for her to bring her out here! Peach is spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, has received flea/tick/HW preventative, and weighs 45lbs. She is estimated to be 2 years old. This Maui angel is about as sweet as they come. While she can be a little shy with new people at first, she warms up quickly and enjoys scratches behind her ears and under her chin. Peach was temporarily in a foster home on Maui, where she showed interest and a friendly temperment with dogs and other animals (chickens, goats, cats, etc.). Her foster said she did not bark. In fact, their neighbor's Jack Russell terriers were not friendly and always barking. When they they would run around the fence side barking and trying to get into fights with our dogs, Peach just runs without barking and seems to enjoy it as a play. Peach is a star in playgroups at the shelter and is what they call a 'helper dog.' She responds well to correction/aggression from other dogs and prefers medium energy, social dog friends. While she will need some continued training with housebreaking, basic obedience, and loose leash walking in her furever home, this sweetheart is going to be an absolute gem for whoever decides to adopt her. If you want that lucky someone to be you, please fill out an adoption application on our website. Mahalo! Photo credit: Maui Humane Society
