About Grizz

This is an urgent call for action. Grizz is only nine months old but already in a high risk situation for no fault of his own. Please consider adopting him or sharing his emergency with your friends and family. It's not too late to turn this underdog into a wonder-dog! Grizz is a sweet young mix who is still growing. His previous owners said he's part Thai Ridgeback, and though he looks like a shepherd mix we really do not know his breed. However what we do know is that Grizz is a looker with a sleek coat and handsome face! Grizz has been good around other dogs, but has no experience with cats. Any resident dog will need to meet Grizz and go through proper introductions to foster a good relationship. A playful dog would be ideal, but he can also be your one and only. Grizz would love challenges and activities. He is very smart. He would do best with an active couple or family with older kids. Experience with dogs is needed. Small children are not a match, kids 8 and over are preferred. Grizz will benefit from basic manners class, which can be provided at low cost through a local rescue. Current owners report that Grizz behaves wonderfully on the weekends but not during the week. Hmmm�'�|can you guess why? It's all about exercise, something Thais and puppies LOVE! On weekends he gets plenty of exercise but none during the week. Easy problem to solve especially as spring is now here! The main reason Grizz is no longer wanted is because a very young child tried to get food out of his mouth and was mildly bitten. No stitches, fortunately. We do not see this as food aggression, just poor supervision over children and dogs who should eat separately. Despite such a situational bite history, Grizz should not be surrendered. Most shelters will not accept Grizz or they may have a zero tolerance policy. Grizz will be your biggest fan. He just needs a routine, boundaries, and activity.
