About River

River is a 12 mo old Lab Husky Catahoula Terrier mix. She likes dogs, kids and women. When she first arrived, she was very wary of men but since being in a good foster home with a compassionate husband, River has learned that men are ok to be friends with too. River's foster dad has earned her trust by feeding her all her meals and spending time with her doing things that she loves such as short car rides and leashed walks. River is completely vetted, hw neg and on preventatives. She came to us with an ear and urinary tract infection but has been treated and is A-OK now. Although house trained, River is subtle when letting you know she needs a potty break. She may have an accident if you miss her 'telling' you that she needs to go outside to tinkle. River does well on the leash and likes walks. She spent time with a trainer while her foster family was traveling abroad. While there, River has learned recall quite well. Recall means that she will come to you when called instead of running away as in a game of 'Hey-my-humans-are-chasing-me ��%90 I am-having-fun ��%90 Let's-run-some-more!'. River has a strong and spunky personality. If you are a pushover, this is not your dog. River will do best with a person who will lead her. She is fun, active, loving and smart. She will enjoy mental stimulation as much as physical exercise. She does not require constant entertainment by her humans, but is happier when adequate playtime is paid to her. She is not the dog you can lock up, go to work for 15 hrs on a daily basis, come home and go to bed. She will need daily funtime. River is medium energy. She will occasionally the zoomies, but she also can chill out and relax for a quiet evening also. Basically, River is a 12 mo old tween puppy that enjoys life.
