About Ms. Yoda

Adoption Fee: $150
Parson Russell Terrier / Jack Russell
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Meet Ms. Yoda! The spirited canine hailing from Chattanooga, TN. At a sprightly 3-year-old, she's a scruffy 14 lb. cutie with a distinctive mohawk, catching the eye of anyone lucky enough to encounter her. Despite her mixed heritage, she embodies the spirited temperament and energy of a Parson Russell terrier. With a past shrouded in mystery, Ms. Yoda has endeared herself to her current companions, revealing herself to be sweet, smart, and comically affectionate. A natural athlete, she's always ready for an adventure and is determined to live life to the fullest! When it comes to playtime, Ms. Yoda's favorites include the flirt pole and cardboard boxes, showcasing her penchant for both agility and creativity. She's a quick study, eagerly learning tricks like sit, stay, and even more advanced commands like sitting pretty and crawling. While she's friendly and gentle with people, Ms. Yoda can be reactive to other dogs, a trait consistent with her terrier lineage. However, with patient training and positive reinforcement, she's making strides in overcoming this behavior. Anxiety can sometimes get the best of her, particularly when left alone, but with the aid of stuffed Kongs and soothing music, she's gradually adapting to her new environment. Loud noises and sudden movements can startle her, but she remains calm in the face of more predictable stimuli like vacuum cleaners or passing garbage trucks. In terms of routine, Ms. Yoda thrives on structure, with regular potty breaks, walks, and meals punctuating her day. She finds comfort in curling up in a warm lap come evening and sleeps soundly in her crate beside her guardians' bed at night. For Ms. Yoda, a home with an experienced dog person familiar with terrier temperaments would be ideal. She shines under positive reinforcement training but requires assistance in managing her reactivity to other dogs and separation anxiety. While she may be a tad shy with strangers, particularly men, her potential with small children or cats remains unknown. A fenced yard would provide the perfect space for her to explore and play to her heart's content, ensuring a happy and fulfilling life for this lovable canine companion.
