About Kaylee

KAYLEE is an adorable 8 (almost 9) year old, 8.8 pound Pomeranian who was returned because she was not good with the grandchildren LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Calm home, fenced yard, no kids. **If you are interested in meeting or adopting KAYLEE you must first submit an ADOPTION APPLICATION using this link- https://form.jotform.com/232395363383057 or by filling out an application on our website- aplaceofhoperescue.com** Kaylee is a sweet little pom pom who needs a loving, calm home with someone who will be patient and work with her on her socialization. She is hesitant to be picked up and freezes when you come near her. Once you have her, you can give her cuddles but she is still unsure of the whole experience! If you start petting her too much she will leave your lap. She follows her foster mom around the house but keeps a proper distance. Kaylee gets excited when it is dinner time and when her foster mom comes home from work. She barks and does little turn arounds. Very adorable to see! Kaylee was with other dogs in her prior home and she is getting used to the dogs in her foster home, but it is a process. When Kaylee is unsure or anxious she can get a little growly but as she has gotten to know the other dogs better she has relaxed and they can lie next to her with no issues. We have not had her around cats and while she was fine with older kids (12+), we know that younger ones make her anxious and nervous. Kaylee is not yet potty trained. She leaves little puddles on the floor. Her foster mom is working with her on this. She is also not leash trained and needs a fully fenced secure yard. Kaylee enjoys outside but sometimes is apprehensive about going out. She keeps an eye on her foster mom who will walk outside and hide to the left of the door where she can't see her so she ventures out. Once she is in her permanent home with somebody working with her, that behavior will improve. Kaylee first slept in a dog bed in the bedroom at night. But her foster mom decided she needed to sleep in the big bed so she would become more comfortable with the other dogs and feel like part of the pack. Since then she has become more comfortable with them and sleeps on the big bed every night. Kaylee has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. She is a precious little dog who is going to take some time to learn how to be a pet as part of the family. *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
