Courtesy Posting: LAS CRUCES, NM - ID #71403 - 'FREYA' - 34 LB - ANIMAL SERVICE CENTER OF MESILLA VALLEY URGENT - ADORABLE 4 YR OLD, CHOW GIRL NEEDS A LOVING HOME OR FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT & RESCUE TO SAVE HER LIFE. WHO CAN HELP? PLEASE CONTACT ROBIN WITH ANY QUESTIONS, AS SHARED POSTS AND COMMENTS MAY NOT BE SEEN OR ANSWERED. We are in urgent need of finding a loving home, or a foster (foster-to-adopt) and rescue for this 4 yr old, 34 lb Chow looking girl who is adoptable. Freya is all kinds of cute and cuddly. She has some particular preferences to go with her rare radiance. Freya should eat independently from other dogs in the home as she exhibits some resource guarding. Freya currently has a kennel mate named Luna. She is similar size and very sweet. They get along. Staff just watch during feeding time to ensure Freya doesn't resource guard. Thus, in a foster or home setting Freya should be crated or fed in a gated off area to avoid resource guarding conflict. Freya would do best in an adults only home where treat and toy sharing is managed if other pups are involved. Ditching buffet style dog dining will be well worth the affection bestowed on you by this little lady. Won't you come scoop up this magnificent lap magnet? Freya is very people social and gets along with her kennel mate. She is WDF and exhibits either barrier reactivity or was resource guarding the volunteer in the social run. That said she is a total cuddly lamb with humans and just needs the right adopter! It may be this cutie is dog selective, or perhaps just needs a proper introduction to another dog. Shelter welcomes new transfer partners and transport to different area of New Mexico/ neighboring states is possible. If interested in fostering, fostering-to-adopt, or helping in some other way (ie., pledging for his rescue), please also contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement asap. We will try to pair fosters or interested parties with a rescue group. If you are a rescue and interested in pulling this cutie, please email the shelter right away at: [email protected] & [email protected] Please contact Robin with any questions as shared posts and comments may not be seen or answered.
