Courtesy Posting: LAS CRUCES, NM - ID #73577 - 'CHAPARITO' 23 LB - ANIMAL SERVICE CENTER OF MESILLA VALLEY 23 LB - TIMID/ SHY, 1 YR OLD, BEAGLE/ JACK RUSSELL TERRIER LOOKING GIRL URGENTLY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT & RESCUE TO SAVE HER LIFE. URGENT-EUTH LISTED & RESCUE ONLY- PATIENT, FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT & RESCUE NEEDED ASAP TO SAVE THIS PUPPY'S LIFE. WHO CAN HELP? PLEASE CONTACT ROBIN WITH ANY QUESTIONS, AS SHARED POSTS AND COMMENTS MAY NOT BE SEEN OR ANSWERED. We are in urgent need of finding a patient and loving home, or a foster (foster-to-adopt) and rescue for this 1 yr old, 23 lb timid Beagle/ Jack Russell Terrier looking girl who is now is RESCUE Only & Euth Listed and does not have much time. She came into the shelter with Negrito #73579. We do not know if they are a bonded pair or not. It would of course be nice to place the two dogs together, but that is not always possible. Chaparita is an owner surrender who is shut down in the shelter. She came in with Negrito. She has been given a few days extension on her euth date of 3/17 after some promising socializing in her kennel. She is timid but not fear reactive or aggression in any way. Chaparita just needs a patient human and lots of calm praise to feel safe. She can have a slip lead put on without issue but it appears she has never walked on leash. Leash panic is a trainable issue. At only 23 pounds, Chaparita is small enough to be carried and did fine being picked up-See video. After 15 minutes in her kennel with volunteers she came forward in her kennel to continue interaction. Cautious but curious, Chaparita just needs a quiet home environment and more handling to blossom. At barely a year old this girl deserves the chance to live a full life. Don't let her story end here. Shelter welcomes new transfer partners and transport to different area of New Mexico/ neighboring states is possible. If interested in fostering, fostering-to-adopt, or helping in some other way (ie., pledging for his rescue), please also contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement asap. We will try to pair fosters or interested parties with a rescue group. If you are a rescue and interested in pulling this cutie, please email the shelter right away at: [email protected] & [email protected] Please contact Robin with any questions as shared posts and comments may not be seen or answered.
