She's a 4 year old freckle faced beauty, who was found as a stray in July. Ester is RED LISTED, which means she needs to find an exit strategy now! Ester's been in playgroups, and can be selective and assertive, so proper introductions are a must. Ester has been at the shelter since July 2023, and sadly, it's wearing on her. Shes lost a great deal of weight, pressure sores from laying on cement cover her joints, and she rubs her upset body against the kennel doors, causing bleeding. The other day, I caught her standing in the corner of her kennel licking the wall incessantly. Her deterioration is very difficult to watch. Shelter life ain't always easy for a lot of these guys. Ester is RED LISTED now , which means she needs to find an exit strategy now! Ester's been in playgroups, and can be selective and assertive, so proper introductions are a must. She's got sass, personality, and the looks. 10 out of 10. Let's get Ester out of the shelter and into a home of her home (where she can perch on the couch instead of the yard chair). ESTER, a 4yr-old, pointer mix girl who is breaking hearts. Why? Because this energetic, happy lady is rapidly becoming kennel stressed, which does NOT bode well for her either mentally or physically. She has been at the shelter since July 2023 and needs a patient owner who will let her decompress at her own pace, no matter how long that takes. Someone with preferably no other pets (at least for the time being) who will give her loads of love, attention, exercise, structure and additional training to ensure she becomes her very best self! Like most stressed shelter dogs, Ester is a different girl when she's out of her kennel - she's relaxed, playful and FUN!
