About River

Meet River! This little guy is a terrier mix, male, and weighs 10 lbs. We rescued this sweet little guy from the shelter. His owner had tossed him from a car and kept going. You can see in some of the photos the wounds on his head and one on his little leg. They are almost healed now and luckily there were no broken bones. Despite all of that he LOVES people. River, according to the shelter, is around 4 years old. He acts way younger. He has a lot of energy and loves running and playing in the yard. We feel that River would be great with children that would play with him, but we are looking for a home with no small children due to his energy. River loves being around his people. He will lay in your lap for as long as you will let him. He loves to snuggle and sleep with you. He's just a total love bug. River can get along with other dogs closer to his age but takes some time in teaching him how to behave with them. He is not good with older dogs. He's somewhat of a bully. It is because he LOVES his human and wants all of the attention. He would be great as an only dog. River is looking for his new forever home. One that will love him and work with him. He is doing really good with his potty training. We think he is younger than 4 but we really have no way of knowing. We are looking for a home with a fenced in yard. An active family with someone that is home a lot. He is a work in progress so he needs someone with patience. He really wants to learn and is a total sweetheart.
