CHOW SAVVY, HOME OR FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED - 2.6 YR HANDSOME CHOW MIX 'CHOWBOY' FOUND DUMPED ON THE STREET, NO ONE EVER CAME FOR HIM. We are in urgent need of finding a patient and loving home, or a foster (foster-to-adopt) and rescue for this adorable young chow mix who the shelter has fondly named Chowboy. He was found as a stray and sadly his owner never showed. Chowboy is only 50 lbs and thus perfectly sized. He is estimated to be only 2.6 years old and has a beautiful gold and cream coat that could use some grooming. He has no medical issues reported. Some of his shelter notes state, ' Approached handler, body neutral, not interested in treats. Tail began wagging when unlocking kennel, easy to leash and walk to yard, showed no interest in other dogs. Explored yard, panting, pawed at gate a couple times. Eventually approached handler, soft body, slight tail wag, head flipped first time handler pet, then continued exploring. Approached again, this time allowed handler to pet head and back. Still not interested in treats. Followed handler to gate with soft body and wagging tail, easy walk back, stopped in front of neighboring dog's kennel and sniffed, easy return and leash removal. Would recommend PA having experience with breed. Older children are recommended'.
