URGENT, CHOW SAVVY, HOME OR FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT NEEDED - ADORABLE 2 YR CHOW/GOLDEN RETRIEVER LOOKING MIX 'CHOWDER' FOUND DUMPED ON THE STREET, NO ONE EVER CAME FOR HIM. We are in urgent need of finding a patient and loving home, or a foster (foster to adopt) and rescue for this adorable young chow mix who the shelter has fondly named Chowder, who may also be part retriever. He was found at an apartment complex where good Samaritans caught him and he was friendly, but his owner never came for this cutie. Chowder is only 53 lbs so a perfect size, and estimated to be only 2 years old. He has no current medical issues reported. Although he came in understandably scared to the shelter, some of his shelter notes state, 'Pup did greet handler at front of kennel door but backed away when handler kneeled down. When handler put hand out pup did approach to sniff. When handler opened kennel door pup had a low growl but ceased when handler went to lasso. No issues leashing. Walked to play yard with easy, loose pull on leash. In play yard pup defecated right away then explored quickly before soliciting attentions from both handlers. Pup would hard stare if handler approached so handler would back away, but pup would approach after for pets. Walked back to kennel with easy pull. No issues returning to kennel and removing leash.'
