She was severely matted, to the point that we weren't sure she even had eyes, and covered in fleas. As we started to clean her up a beautiful dog emerged! We can't wait to see what she looks like when her hair grows out! She is also a sweetheart! Piper is a lover who enjoys being close to her person. Snuggles and kisses are her favorite things. Piper gets along well with all the other small dogs in her foster home and loves to play. She would be happy with a small doggy friend or as an only as long as she gets lots of attention from her person. We have not had her around cats or kids since she has been in rescue. For that reason we would want to look at a home with older kids just to be on the safe side, but she has a friendly personality. Piper seems to be housebroken and has been learning the doggy door. She is also learning to walk on a leash and she loves car rides. We would like to find her a home with a fenced yard since she was found as a stray and still needs leash work. Piper sleeps in the big bed, behind her foster mom's head. She sleeps all night, no need for a potty break! She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, wormed, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. She's a cutie! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility.
